Holidays are approaching fast! I'm super excited since my loved ones and I decide to exchange gifts this year! Usually I'm not into giving gifts since most of the time I don't have a clue what people are into the past year or what they would want for the new coming year. I've never been the one to ask what they want, steers away from the surprise of it all. Every year loved ones and I like to gather for dinner or travel somewhere. That's where the real gift is. But ever so often presents are just as fun.
Since our anniversary is close to the holidays, we decided to celebrate in our favorite city on the East coast. I grew up loving all aspects of Portland, Maine. The food, lighthouses and the folks. A bit diverse, pleasant and hip. We stopped at the all time best seafood restaurant in the city, Eventide Oyster Co. Enjoy fresh variety of oysters to the unique sea food dishes. To accomodate those who don't have a liking to Oysters, everything from Buttermilk Fried Chicken Bun to Tuna Crudo. A bit of old school fish house meets new American Oyster bar. We both went back twice for their brown butter lobster roll. This joint is for folks to bring all people together, get your hands dirty and enjoy the Portland street views. Other amazing restaurant we couldn't pass up and I'll be sure to write a story about them as well in the near furute, is Duckfat, Grace (for cocktails) Central Provisions and last but NOT least Pai Men Miyake. :::mouth watering:::
After we stuffed our faces for a few days I decided a mini photo session was acceptable. We enjoyed the October weather in December by walking around Portland and than drove to the other side of the Fore River. There is was, Bug Lighthouse. The only lighthouse I know of that is stylish, classy, sassy and small. Perfect fit for me. Perfect fit to our anniversary.
